The Passion of Christ

The Passion of Christ

The hour drew ever near.
His intentions were sincere.
If he dared not face his fear,
Who will we call our saviour?

With his heart weighing a tonne,
God the son refused to run.
Not my will but yours be done;
By my death, may death be won.

He was brought before the court;
His crucifixion they sought.
For groundless crimes he was caught,
Did he deserve what he got?

The Romans showed who was boss,
Torturing him with brute force.
Bloodied and dragging his cross,
Spectators watched, at a loss.

There on that cross hung a king.
For us, he gave everything.
Through his death and suffering,
Salvation he came offering.

He was murdered like a slave;
Buried in someone’s grave.
Our lives he wanted to save;
In exchange, his life he gave.

The ransom he had to pay,
To save all who strayed away.
But then, dead he did not stay,
He is alive again today.

*****
I have nothing much to say.
Realised after reading this once again,
I am the one who has strayed away.
All that He did, do i stand to gain?
...
I have took Him for granted
When he was always by my side.
He was like a friend, sincere and kind-hearted.
For now it's time, it's time to decide.
